Nature Trust (Malta) is concerned by an application to construct a dwelling in the San Blas valley in Gozo.

It said it recently blew the whistle over the partial destruction of a watercourse in the area through the opening of a concrete road in the valley.

It has now received reports that an application is pending for the construction of a dwelling right in the middle of the valley.

"The application in question (03922/02) certainly defies all credulity, since the valley is a green area," it said in a statement.

Nature Trust called on the Gozo Ministry to ensure that Malta Environment and Planning Authority regulations on site are enforced, and called on MEPA to refuse the application.
