A Libyan man was yesterday fined Lm200 and banned from driving for a year for running over a horse.

Khaled Al Ashter, 35, pleaded guilty to involuntarily causing the death of Carmelo Vassallo's horse Tattoo in San Pawl tat-Targa on Wednesday.

He was also charged with drink-driving, refusing to take a breathalyser test and driving recklessly and dangerously.

Police Inspector Dennis Theuma prosecuted.
