The Maltese islands are to be featured in the popular Spanish documentary travel programme Paraisos Cercanos (Nearby Paradises).
The one-hour Malta programme will be broadcast next summer on Spanish national station TVE's Canal 2 which has an average audience of 1.5 million as well as Canal Internacional with 7.6 million viewers in the US and 8 million in Europe.
In the meantime, a television crew from French TV station Histoire was recently in Malta to shoot a feature about Neolithic Malta. The crew was headed by Prof. Jean Guilane who is an expert on the subject of Neolithic Mediterranean settlements.
Both visits were coordinated by the Malta Tourism Authority. The Spanish TV crew's stay in Malta was assisted by the Malta Embassy in Madrid, Air Malta and the Comino, Ta' Cenc and Sol Suncrest hotels, while the French TV crew's stay was assisted by the National Museum of Archaeology and Air Malta.
