HSBC Cares for Children Fund sponsors summer OASI camp

HSBC Cares For Children Fund sponsored SOLE (Summer OASI Learning Experience) for children aged 10 to 13. This event takes place in the form of a summer camp that provides children with opportunities to learn, relax, express their feelings and relate to others in a safe environment. Thanks to the support given by HSBC Cares For Children Fund, 24 children benefited from this experience.

Jeremy Hunt, chairman of the HSBC Cares for Children Fund, said that the fund has once again supported SOLE as part of its commitment to help professional charitable organisations in their efforts to prevent drug addiction among youth.

The OASI Foundation has created a broad prevention programme within the community together with a parallel structure for intervention, treatment and rehabilitation of persons suffering from addiction. "These are all initiatives in which the HSBC Cares for Children Fund takes a keen interest in," Mr Hunt said.

During the five-day camp the children took part in lifeskills sessions, a talent show, night games and varied workshops. Doriette Camilleri, a member of the HSBC Cares for Children Fund, also attended the event to underline the fund's commitment to support similar beneficial projects.
