Public screening process

The government is starting a public screening process under the Arable Land Scheme for Gozo.

The scheme was launched by the Home Affairs Ministry in August 2000 and gave farmers the opportunity to apply for new leases on government land.

It had laid down that after the close of applications, a screening process would be gradually implemented so as to give any interested party the opportunity to view a map outlining the portions of land being requested on lease, enabling them to object if they feel their rights are being prejudiced.
