The Collegium Musicum Choir will be going to Prague and Brno for a week on August 21 to perform excerpts from its vast repertory, including Maltese compositions.
The choir will be singing at the Bambino Gesù Carmelite church in Prague, among other places.
The Collegium Musicum is the resident choir of St Paul's Cathedral in Mdina and St John's Co-Cathedral in Valletta and was set up in the 1980s by Mro Dion Buhagiar.
Its repertory spans the Renaissance, the classical and the contemporary. The choir has performed the Judas Maccabaeus and the Messiah of Handel, the Paukenmese of Haydn, the Messa in Fa (a due cori) of Francesco Azopardi, the Messa da Requiem of Verdi and Brahms and the oratorios Pawlu ta' Malta and Dun Gorg by Charles Camilleri among other works.
