Appogg is setting up a day care and family support centre intended to give a headstart to children aged from birth to three from the Cottonera area.
For this reason, Appogg is launching a course for volunteers in childcare which will target basic areas in child development, child care, basic report writing skills and group dynamics. An interview will be held prior to their engagement in the childcare centre.
Volunteers will be assisting the carers looking after the children. The carers will be working on individual programmes to fully develop the potential of children attending the centre. All activities at the centre will be play orientated.
Parents from the Cottonera area are encouraged to send their children to the centre once it is opened. The families of children attending the centre will also be receiving constant support.
Training will be provided and these volunteers will be supervised personally and in groups.
For more information about the centre and on how to become a volunteer with children, contact Ms Sylvia Galea on tel. 21666392/21665149 or e-mail: cdu@appogg.org.
