Injures three women

A Syrian national was yesterday fined Lm75 for threatening, assaulting and slightly injuring three women with a metal chain.

Hamida Awar, 27, of Attard, pleaded guilty to injuring Tunisians M'Hamdi Souad and Hafida Khadiri and Moroccan Nadia Goumri in Sliema last Monday at about 10 p.m.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera ordered Awar not to approach the women against a Lm100 bond.

Police Inspector Stephen Gatt prosecuted.

Dr Franco Debono appeared for Awar.
