Structural works on the Lm180,000 new centre for the national curriculum council is expected to be completed in October, Education Minister Louis Galea said.
He was speaking when he visited the centre which is situated near the Maria Assumpta Secondary School in Hamrun, yesterday.
The project is under the responsibility of the Foundation for Tomorrow's Schools.
The centre will provide facilities for teachers, parents and others involved in education to plan together and develop educational material.
It will also offer facilities for research work.
Dr Galea said that since the setting up of the national curriculum council, the need was felt to provide the council and the 15 focus groups helping the council with adequate premises from where to operate.
The first task of the council and the focus groups was to draw up a plan of action for each sector treated by the curriculum, he said.
