I refer to the item in 'On the Dot' (July 22) claiming that the executive secretary of the St Paul's Bay local council was very unhelpful in giving information to a complainant over the phone about a small car park near the Mecca business outlet, in St Paul's Street, St Paul's Bay.

This allegation is totally un-founded as the executive secretary was away from the island when the complaint was made.

On further investigation, it later transpired that the caller refused to reveal his identity, but the reception clerk still provided the requested information.

These circumstances clearly indicate that the anonymous caller did not even know whom he was talking to!
