A Rabat man was yesterday fined Lm300 for buying five stolen video cameras with intent to sell them.

David Bonavia, 33, pleaded guilty to buying the video cameras worth over Lm1,000 when he knew they were stolen on and before December 5, 1999.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera noted that the man's criminal record contained only a traffic offence and that the video cameras had been returned to their rightful owners.

Police Inspector Anglu Caruana prosecuted.
