Nominations have been invited for the Malta Tourism Awards, to be held on September 28 to coincide with events marking World Tourism Day.
The first of their kind, the awards are being hosted by the Casinò di Venezia on the Vittoriosa waterfront. The idea is to turn the awards into an annual event.
The organisers, Skal Malta in conjunction with The Malta Financial & Business Times of Network Publications, have invited those interested to nominate individuals, companies and entities. The award is open for nominations until August 28.
The categories include transportation, accommodation, incoming and outgoing tourism, entertainment and interest, academic and professional, food and beverage suppliers, media promotion, catering outlets and activities, as well as tourism personality of the year.
The nominees are to be screened and assessed by an independent panel, chaired by former permanent secretary to the foreign ministry Saviour Stellini.
Prime Minister Eddie Fenech Adami and Tourism Minister Michael Refalo will be officiating over the award ceremony.
Nomination forms may be collected from Skal Malta, or Network House, Vjal ir-Rihan, San Gwann, or downloaded from www.maltatourismawards.com
