The Libyan-Maltese Chamber of Commerce has registered great interest in the Malta-Libya shopping festival which is being held in Tripoli, Libya, between November 20-29.

The chamber secured the support of the Malta External Trade Corporation in addition to that of Bank of Valletta, which is also sponsoring the event.

Discussions are at an advanced stage on a proposal by the chamber to obtain a preferential customs duty rate of 10 per cent for all exhibits imported for the festival, which has received great interest, both from the Maltese and the Libyan government.

New legislation will allow Libyan businessmen to become official agents for branded products. Participating in the Malta-Libya Shopping Festival will be a unique opportunity for the exhibitors to seek agents in the Libyan market for products already represented by the Maltese companies.
