MCAST offered persons from the Richmond Foundation the opportunity to help in the packing of the 2002-2003 prospectus.

Five residents and a supervisor from the Supported Employment Programme were employed for a week to help in the packing of 5,000 copies of the prospectus.

Richmond Foundation aims to serve the Maltese community as a leader in the provision of community rehabilitation and support services for persons with mental health difficulties and to work towards their re-integration into society. MCAST is dedicated to helping persons reach their full potential and to provide opportunities to all people with all kinds of qualifications.

Through this exercise persons on the Supported Employment Programme had the opportunity to gain work experience. Employment, be it paid or voluntary, is considered to be a crucial aspect in the rehabilitation of persons who have mental health difficulties and in their resettlement into the community. The team works in close collaboration with employers and provides support for both users and employers.

MCAST was very satisfied with the work done and looks forward to continue working with Richmond Foundation.

The college is striving to provide appropriate support for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Prospective students with a disability or learning difficulty are invited to discuss their interest in MCAST courses with members of the Information and Support Unit.
