Ta' Xbiex 11
Otters 3
(0-0, 3-1, 5-0, 3-2)
\nTa' Xbiex Mermaids Paradise took up the driving seat in the second session to register a comfortable victory over joint bottom-placed Otters, their second in the competition.
A flurry of goals from Santino Micallef in the second and third quarters provided the spark which Peter Paolella's team needed to dismiss their erstwhile erratic opponents.
It had been an uneventful opening session with neither team being able to raise the tempo of their swimming.
After that, the shooting skills of Micallef and his colleagues' superior speed left their mark on their proceedings
The constant influx of fresh men kept Ta' Xbiex oozing confidence. Goals continued coming their way, although with no such frequency as the middle sessions, and the final 11-3 scoreline gave a clear picture of the edge the winning team enjoyed.
