The Malta Federation of Industry is finalising a twinning arrangement with the Irish Business and Employers Confederation (IBEC) thanks to funding provided by the European Commission under a Euro-Med project.

Through this arrangement, IBEC officials will be assisting the FOI to give better service to its members in several respects. In the initial stages of the twinning arrangement, the assistant director of the Irish Business Bureau in Brussels, Cathal Lynch, visited the FOI to discuss the potential support actions required to fulfil the aims of the twinning exercise.

A number of meetings were held with the director-general of the federation and executive staff, the president and the Council, as well as some members of the FOI Environment Committee and the Human Resources and Social Affairs Working Group.

It is expected that a number of visits will be made to Malta by IBEC specialists. FOI personnel will also have the opportunity to undertake study tours to Dublin to deepen their knowledge on certain new initiatives that the FOI will be taking in the near future to give a better service to members.
