Malta-Russia relations

The Russian Foreign Minister, Igor Ivanov expressed satisfaction with the current state of relations between Malta and the Russian Federation.

The minister wrote to Foreign Minister Joe Borg on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malta and the Russian Federation.

The letter was presented to Dr Borg by the ambassador of the Russian Federation, Sergey Zotov.

A letter from Dr Borg has also been sent to Moscow and was presented to the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation yesterday.

In his letter, Dr Borg stated that over the years, Malta and the Russian Federation have worked solidly to "ensure that relations between our two countries grow and flourish in all spheres particularly in the political, economic and cultural fields".
