Top DJ due in Malta

Dance music fanatics in Malta can look forward to another big show, with Fresh DJ Agency announcing yesterday that it had managed to entice DJ Tiësto to perform here live.

DJ Tiësto, winner of the 'Best Club DJ 2002' at the Dancestar awards, will be performing in Malta on September 14.

Several weeks ago he was also nominated in the category "best club DJ", a category which included Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Carl Cox and Fatboy Slim, among others.

DJ Tiësto is the current number one DJ in the official US ratings www.thedjlist.com.

A mainstay in his native Holland, DJ Tiësto has long had a passion for sharing music and first played records at drive-in disco shows early in his career.

He soon moved to the clubs where his sound focused on club and popular music from the Dutch chart parade. Eventually he narrowed his scope mainly to house music, and started to create his own distinctive style.

In the coming days, Tiësto will be playing the Area 2 rock/hip-hop/electronic tour in the US, which will also feature names like David Bowie, Busta Rhymes, Moby and Carl Cox.
