Domestic exports dropped by Lm47.9 million, to Lm377.8 million, in the first half this year, the National Statistics Office said yesterday.

With imports down by Lm39.2 million, to Lm598.6 million, and re-exports up by Lm18.9 million, to Lm59.6 million, the trade gap narrowed by Lm10.2 million, to Lm161.2 million.

In June, domestic exports dropped by Lm5.1 million, to Lm65.6 million, and re-exports were marginally up, to Lm9.6 million.

Imports in the same month rose by Lm2.1 million, to Lm105.9 million, compared to the figure for the same month last year.

At Lm53.4 million, the value of imported industrial supplies was marginally below last the level recorded in June last year.

The importation of capital goods was up by Lm1.7 million, to Lm19.6 million.

The value of consumer goods imports increased by Lm1.2 million, to Lm23.2 million.

At Lm9.7 million, the value of fuel imports were marginally below the level of June last year.
