At the beginning of yesterday morning's parliamentary sitting Labour MP Noel Farrugia on behalf of the opposition said the minutes of Monday evening's sitting needed to be corrected as Labour MPs John Attard Montalto and Charles Buhagiar had been with the other members of the opposition when they walked out of the House, and they had not taken part in the vote.

The Acting Speaker, Mr Michael Bonnici, said he had seen them in the Chamber. If they were renouncing their presence, the minutes would be amended accordingly.

Finance Minister John Dalli said the minutes had to record the facts, and the two Labour MPs had been in the Chamber when the vote was taken.

Mr Farrugia said the two MPs had walked out and he had actually accompanied Mr Buhagiar on the way out.

Social Policy Minister Lawrence Gonzi said Mr Farrugia could move a formal amendment to the minutes. If not, they were confirmed.

Dr Farrugia said he was saying that the opposition disagreed with the minutes.

Mr Bonnici then declared the minutes confirmed.
