Two men found dead

Two men were found dead in separate locations yesterday, one of them suspected to be a victim of drug overdose, the police said.

In the first case, a woman named Liliana Galea informed the police at about 6.30 p.m. that her father, Joe Galea, 48, had not been seen for a few days, and that a bad smell was emanating from his home in Archbishop Street, Valletta.

The police broke into the apartment and found him dead and in an advance state of decomposition.

Police said they found no signs of violence or drug use, and the room was in order, but the cause of death has still to be established through an autopsy expected to be carried out today.

In the other case, a 27-year-old man was found dead in a farmhouse in Mtahleb last night.

The police said a syringe was found near the body.

The autopsy is expected to be carried out today.

The duty magistrate appointed various experts to help her in the inquiries into both cases.
