BOV sponsors children's ward initiative

Bank of Valletta has accepted to sponsor an initiative being taken by the staff of the paediatric cancer ward at St Luke's Hospital, known as Wonderland Ward.

"This worthy initiative involves the redecoration and embellishment of the in-patient rooms of Wonderland Ward so as to ensure that the patients receive the best treatment in a more comfortable environment.

"This initiative is being taken by the nursing and medical staff in order to make the rooms more home-like rather than hospital-like. This is considered to be especially important given that the patients at this ward are children who very often require treatment over a long period of time," BOV said.

Also present for the presentation of the sponsorship were Ms Yvonne Scerri, nursing officer in charge of Wonderland, and the nurses and paramedical staff at Wonderland Ward.
