Nature Trust (Malta) has praised the Ministry for Resources and the Infrastructure and the Ministry for Gozo for the recent clean-up of Comino, in which 20 years of accumulated waste was removed.

However, it said that besides clean-ups, it would also like to see more thorny issues, such as illegal and rampant building development, tackled.

The society also praised the Malta Environment and Planning Authority for setting up the Comino Steering Committee - of which Nature Trust is a member - to safeguard the long-term integrity of the island.
