Blood Donors Association holding general meeting, appeals for volunteers

The Malta Blood Donors Association will be holding a general meeting for blood donors and volunteers, on Friday at 7 p.m. at Caritas, 5, Lion Street, Floriana. A new statute is being proposed and a new committee will be elected for the coming term.

In announcing the general meeting, outgoing president Alfred Balzan, urged the public, whether blood donors or not, to attend. All are welcome, including foreign residents.

The Blood Donors Association is currently meeting constituted bodies and organisations to promote their recently launched awareness campaign to encourage more blood donors to donate regularly. It intends to team up with the blood transfusion centres to ensure more structured and regular blood donations throughout the year.

The association is therefore appealing for volunteers to help the committee in creating and fostering awareness of the importance of regular blood donation.
