¤ The feast of St George is being celebrated in Victoria today.

Pontifical Concelebrated Mass, led by Archbishop Joseph Mercieca and with the participation of Bishop Nikol Cauchi and Apostolic Nuncio Mgr Dominik Hruvovsky, will be celebrated at St George's Basilica at 8.30 a.m. The panegyric will be delivered by Fr Albert Sammut, OFM Conv., a Maltese Franciscan serving in Istanbul.

La Stella Band, directed by Mro Joseph Vella, with the participation of soprano Myriam Cauchi, tenor Rumen Doikov, baritone Carlos de Miranda, the Laudate Pueri Choir and the Kings School Chapel Choirs will perform Mass in D in honour of St George, Prince of Martyrs.

Marches will be performed by the St George Band of Qormi, at 11 a.m. followed by traditional horse and donkey races in Republic Street, Victoria at 2.30 p.m.

Solemn vespers will be performed by the collegiate chapter and clergy led by Archpriest Mgr Salv Borg at 6.30 p.m. Psalms of the second vespers, composed by Joseph Vella, will be performed by the Laudate Pueri Choir.

The Mnarja Band, directed by Mro Joseph Grech, will perform on St George's Square at 7.15 p.m. It will be followed by a procession, led by Mgr Hruvovsky, with the participation of La Stella Band at 7.30 p.m.

The Nicolò Isouard Band, of Mosta, directed by Mro Emanuel Spagnol, will perform at 8.30 p.m. At the end of the procession, at 10.45 p.m., the antiphon will be sung followed by a Eucharistic benediction.

¤ The St Margaret Band Club of Sannat will be inaugurated by President Guido de Marco on St Margaret Square, Sannat, on Tuesday at 7.45 p.m.

A traditional dinner, with the participation of Ira Losco, marking the feast of St Margaret, will be held on Sannat parish square on Thursday at 8.30 p.m.

¤ A coffee morning, organised by the Cathedral parish, will be held at Ta' Pinu Cafeteria on Tuesday. Transport leaves Savina Square, Victoria, at 8.45 a.m. Tickets at Lm1.25 may be obtained from Coney Island Bar (tel: 2155-1289) or Grace Debono (2155-1460).

¤ Mass, led by Fontana parish priest Fr George Bezzina, with the participation of Fr Emmanuel Galea, will be held at Dwejra Bay on Friday at 8 p.m. It will be followed by a healing session.

To mark the feast of St Anne, being celebrated in Dwejra on Friday, Masses will be celebrated continuously at St Anne's Chapel, from 7.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Pilgrimages will also be held. A presentation of newborn babies, led by Fr Michael Borg, will be held at 7.30 p.m.

¤ Summerfest, sports and cultural festivities, organised by Nadur Youngsters FC, will be held at Dahlet Qorrot Bay, Nadur, from Thursday to Sunday all day.

¤ A vocal concert, Gozo Summer Night, with the participation of the Berkshire Choir, of the UK, will be held at St Joseph parish church, Qala, on Friday at 8.30 p.m.
