Two new police stations, one in Mtarfa and the other in Mdina, were officially opened by Prime Minister Eddie Fenech Adami yesterday.

Dr Fenech Adami said the new police stations should be a living example of a change in culture, as the Maltese were constantly striving to obtain better service.

The prime minister, who was welcomed by Police Commissioner John Rizzo, also paid a visit to the new section of the Criminal Investigations Department at the police headquarters in Floriana.

Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg said the government had allocated Lm180,000 for the refurbishment of police stations, a process which started earlier this year.
