Congratulations to the parish priest and the entire community of the parish of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Sacro Cuor) in Sliema for celebrating their popular titular feast in a most solemn way and without the release of one single ear-splitting petard.

This goes to prove that we can still celebrate and enjoy our feasts without the background of a continuous barrage of senseless noise and also to the great relief of our elderly and very young children.

I sincerely augur that the organisers and all those involved in the celebrations of the forthcoming titular feasts in Sliema and St Julian's will follow suit and give the residents of this area a peaceful and enjoyable summer.
