The mission statement of the Education and Training Division of the Malta University Services (MUS) is "to provide high quality training and related activities aimed at enhancing Malta's human resources".

The 2001-2002 training programme catered for a wide range of courses with the introduction of several 'new' products. Some of the traditional programmes seemed to lose their appeal, while the innovative ones attracted good response and interest.

Satisfactory results continue to be registered with 'in-house' courses. MUS was entrusted in designing and delivering specialised training programmes at Malta Tourism Authority, IHC, SDO, Melita Cable, BOV, Methode Electronics, Enemalta, Baxter, MCAST - Corradino Complex, Work Resources Committee, Appogg, Malta Drydocks, Malta Shipbuilding, Grapes Restaurant and the Imperial Hotel.

The objectives for the coming academic year are focused on: a. upgrading all the standards of the courses for the local market; b. introducing 'innovative' programmes for professional and technical people; c. tapping foreign markets; d. linking up with the International Schools of English (ISE) to offer language courses combined with technical and management programmes.

Those interested in contributing to these ideals by co-ordinating courses, seminars or any other educational training programme on behalf of MUS Ltd, may contact the MUS administration before August 31 on tel. 2134-3572, 2133-1734, fax 2134-0979 or e-mail: cfal1@um.edu.mt.
