On June 29 the Embassy of Malta in Berlin took part for the second time in the All Nations Festival, in which 30 embassies participated. The festival is aimed at enhancing communication and friendship between the various nationalities in Berlin.

The participating embassies opened their doors to the public, who were taken there in groups by an organised bus-shuttle service. The visitors, mostly Berliners and Germans from various regions, turned up for the event in great numbers. Special trips were in fact organised from various towns and cities in Germany.

In the first hour, between 11 and noon, about 350 people had already visited the Malta embassy. By the close of the evening it has been estimated that over 2,500 visitors had called at the embassy to have the Malta emblem stamped on a facsimile "Festival Passport" provided by the organisers.

Visitors at the embassy were greeted by a young 'knight of Malta', who invited guests to sample the Maltese drink, Kinnie. The visitors were then taken round the embassy. They had the opportunity to watch a short documentary on Malta, and to admire an exhibition of traditional Maltese crafts (silver, brass, ceramics, lace, pottery, filigree, etc.) and colour photographs by Daniel Cilia depicting Malta scenes, as well as attractive tourist posters provided by the Malta Tourism Authority.

The highlight of the event was a quiz on Malta, answers to which were to be found in the tourist literature and hotel brochures which were distributed to the visitors.

The winner of the quiz will receive a voucher for two for a week's stay at the Corinthia Palace Hotel, Attard, on B&B basis plus two return air tickets.
