Following the recent expansion of the Muscats Motors showrooms to cater for the various brands it represents, the company moved onto the modernisation of its servicing facilities to provide a better, safer and hazard-free environment for the benefit of its employees, director Kenneth Mizzi said at the official inauguration of the Muscats Motors building and service area yesterday.
The building was inaugurated by President Guido de Marco in the presence of German Ambassador Georg Merten, ministers and MPs.
The new workshops are now spread over two levels to cater for the various franchises, while the service bays now total 20 and are fully equipped with the latest in exhaust extraction.
Each bay is also equipped with the latest car lifts, specialised tools and computerised diagnostic equipment, which are on-line with the factory plant abroad for any additional technical support and problem solving.
The workshop floors have been designed to meet EU specifications, with a pressurised air circulating system, purposely designed to ensure a constant flow of fresh air, avoiding health hazards and air contamination, Mr Mizzi said.
The two lubricating bays and the de-greasing bay have also been designed with proper waste disposal in mind: the oil is stored in a specific reservoir where it is collected and later disposed of via an approved lubricant importer for recycling purposes.
All oils and waxing solvents, which are gathered in the new car washing plant, are efficiently separated before being disposed of, avoiding any contamination in the main sewage systems.
