The Malta Environment and Planning Authority determined 718 development applications in June and received 527 new applications. The net pending caseload at the end of the month was 3,382.

During June, the MEPA processed 86 notifications of development which did not require a formal application.

It also issued 52 stop and enforcement notices over illegal development: 10 in the north of Malta, 18 in the south, 13 in the central area and 11 in Gozo.

In June, 39 enforcement cases were sanctioned through a MEPA permit and 18 illegal structures were removed by owners. MEPA carried out two direct action operations to remove illegal structures.
