A huge, inflatable "table soccer" pitch will be set up today and tomorrow at Freedom Square, Valletta.

Called Human Football, the event forms part of the YMCA Valletta Festival in aid of the homeless and is sponsored by Carlsberg.

The fun game is very similar to table soccer, but with real human beings. People are stuck to an iron bar as the little players are on table soccer, limiting their movement.

Two teams of eight persons play against each other, and the aim is the same as a regular game of football: to score the most goals before time is up.

"Every adult who purchases three Carlsberg bottles will be entitled to join a team, free of charge," said Ms Alison Bezzina, Carlsberg Brand Executive.

"The games will be played from 7 till 11 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday, and should offer an alternative opportunity for some good and different fun this weekend. Moreover, every evening there is ample parking in Valletta."
