Austrian minister to visit

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria, Benita Ferrero-Waldner will be visiting Malta today and tomorrow.

Ms Ferrero-Waldner will hold talks with the Foreign Minister tomorrow.

She will also call on the President, the Prime Minister and the Deputy Leader of the Opposition.

The foreign ministry said the visit of the Austrian foreign minister was not connected to the signing of the MIA-Vienna International Airport agreement as had been reported by certain sections of the media.

The foreign ministry said Ms Ferro Waldner's visit to Malta follows the visit by Foreign Minister Joe Borg to Vienna last July.
