A St Julian's resident was yesterday accused of punching his girlfriend.

Andy Zammit, 26, pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring Charmaine Sammut in St Julian's on Saturday at about 11 p.m. and breaching the peace.

He requested bail and a ruling was to be given in camera.

Police Inspector Martin Sammut prosecuted.

Dr Raphael Fenech Adami appeared for Zammit.
