A Qormi man was yesterday charged with snatching a woman's handbag.

Sebastian Farrugia, 26, pleaded not guilty to robbing Victoria Borg in Attard on Saturday at about noon, stealing her handbag containing a mobile phone and cash.

He was also charged with slightly injuring her.

Farrugia requested bail and a ruling was to be given in camera.

Police Inspector Angelo Caruana prosecuted.

Dr Edward Zammit Lewis appeared for the defendant.
