Long and Efficient Service Medals
The Prime Minister has approved the award of Long and Efficient Service Medals and clasps to serving members of the Armed Forces of Malta, with effect from March 31.
These included 11 who received the second clasp for 30 years of service, 89 members who were awarded the first clasp of the medal for 25 years of service, and eight who have been awarded the Long and Efficient Service Medal for 18 years of service.
The recipients were listed in the Government Gazette.
Those who were awarded the second clasp of the Long and Efficient Service Medal for 30 years of service are:
Gunner Joseph Bugeja; in the rank of captain: Joseph Abdilla, Michael Farrugia and Thomas Briffa; Lieutenant Joseph Vassallo; in the rank of warrant officer 1: William Brimmer, George Zammit and Raymond Spiteri; in the rank of warrant officer 2: Carmel Camilleri and Fortunato Bonnici and staff sergeant Joseph Nappa.
Those who were awarded the first clasp of the Long and Efficient Service Medal for 25 years of service are:
In the rank of colonel: Carmel Vassallo and Anthony Grech; Lieutenant Colonel Raphael Farrugia; in the rank of captain: George Debono and Anthony Zammit; in the rank of lieutenant: Carmel Grech, Alexander Borg and Francis Xavier Chircop;
