Health Minister Louis Deguara said yesterday that the World Health Organisation had not advised health authorities to take any precautions regarding products such as crisps or cereals.

He was replying to a parliamentary question by Labour MP Noel Farrugia who asked if any precautions would be taken after reports that such products contained high levels of acrylamide, a carcinogenic, when cooked.

Dr Deguara said studies were not conclusive.
