Ray Bondin, executive coordinator of the Valletta Rehabilitation Project, has been awarded the Honorary Citizenship of Palazzo Acreide, a town in Sicily in the province of Syracuse.

The award was given to Mr Bondin in recognition of his work in favour of the heritage of Palazzo Acreide and the other towns and villages of the Val di Noto and for his work in the conservation of heritage in Malta.

The award was presented by mayor Domenico Nigro.
