The Malta Gay Rights Movement is working to establish the first support line for gays, which would be set up in the near future, movement coordinator Sandro Mangion said yesterday.

"We have been collecting money through fundraising events. Now all we need is to find an appropriate premises from which to operate," he said.

He was speaking at a press conference at the Bay Street Hotel in St George's Bay yesterday, called to announce the movement's celebrations of its first anniversary.

This will be the first gay event to be held in public in Malta and is expected to develop into Malta's own 'Gay Pride' in the coming years.
