The Malta Wheelchair DanceSport Association is organising the First Malta Open Dance Spectacular for disabled and non-disabled dancers.

The event under the patronage of President Guido de Marco is planned for December 14 and 15.

A spokesman for the association said that during these two days, there will be a complete integration of disabled and non-disabled persons.

Dancers will be coming from all over Europe and will include both the Latin American and Ballroom European and World Wheelchair DanceSport champions.

The spokesman said that although this is something new for Malta, these types of competitons or events have in fact been organised abroad on a regular basis for the last 25 years.

The Malta Wheelchair DanceSport Association was set up last year to promote wheelchair Latin and ballroom dancing for the disabled and to create synergy between disabled and non-disabled persons through dancing.
