First-class production

Last Sunday evening I took a guest who is visiting from abroad to San Anton Gardens to see the MADC performance of "As you like it". My guest expressed surprise that an amateur company achieved such a high standard.

It really was first-class entertainment. The actors' voice projection and the uniformly clear diction were excellent.

The live music created a pleasant diversion and gave balance to a truly first-class production.

As someone who has attended a number of professional open-air performances of Shakespeare plays in different countries and over a considerable period of time, I feel this performance at San Anton can stand comparison with the best.

The producer, cast and everybody connected with the play deserve the highest praise for a production which more than lives up to MADC standards.
