On June 15, 1942 Malta suffered the loss of one of her best composers, Carlo Diacono. It was most appropriate that for this 60th anniversary of his death the De Requie Mass was held for the repose of his soul.

The De Requie Mass, composed by Diacono, was held on June 20 in the old parish church of St Catherine's, better known as St Gregory's, Zejtun.

The ceremony was well attended and came to an end with Diacono's Agnus Dei.

I would like to congratulate all those who helped in the organisation of this ceremony in honour of this Zejtun-born composer who is fondly remembered by the Città Beland.
