Stagecoach's 'Robin Hood - The Musical'

'Kids never let you down!'

Stagecoach Theatre Arts Schools have staged 'Robin Hood - The Musical', a production having a witty script and a dozen great songs.

The musical was written specifically for children aged between four and 16, with songs ranging from solo ballads to funky rap, to rock and roll numbers, involving the whole company.

Stagecoach Malta school participants presented the musical to the Stagecoachers' parents on the weekend of June 7 and 8.

All students of the school were involved on stage, including those of the early stages' groups.

Parents who attended the show were mesmerised by the energy of the performances as one musical number followed another, with the children singing and dancing away with all the gusto of professionals.

Merry men, villagers, friars, soldiers, villains and bishops, played their part to a tee with the inevitable result that a great time was had by all.

"Kids never let you down! They always perform and it's so wonderful to see them do it. I am so proud of them," Stagecoach senior principal, Edward Mercieca, said.

Eight of Stagecoach's nine schools from Mosta, Birkirkara, St Andrews, Birzebbuga and San Anton performed at the Mikelang Borg Drama Centre, while the Gozo school held their performance at the Oratorju Don Bosco in Victoria.

Speaking about next year's plans, Mr Mercieca said that Stagecoach would also be catering for the over-16s.

As part of Stagecoach International, the school also offers the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts exams in musical theatre and in drama.
