The annual Prize Day of St Augustine College, Pietà, was held last month at St Agatha's Hall, Rabat, under the patronage of the Augustinian Provincial, Fr Lucian Borg, OSA.

The evening opened with the school anthem sung by the school choir led by Fr Alex Cauchi, OSA, and Mr Stephen Ferrante. The choir sang other songs during the course of the evening.

The students were given the opportunity to show their artistic talent in dance and drama. Those from the primary classes danced to the lively music of Country Roads, directed by Ms Miriam Grima, while secondary students took part in an entertaining play entitled Ramses u l- Vjagg fil-Futur, produced and directed by Mr Noel Fitzpatrick.

Fr Alan Scerri, OSA, the college rector, brought up various issues emphasising the importance of the parents' role in the administration and running of the college. Ms Marthese Gatt and her son Daniel, a student at the college, acted as comperes.

Prizes and certificates were awarded for merit in various academic subjects. Recognition was also given to those who represented the college while participating in extracurricular activities, including sports, science, technology and communication.

The evening ended with a message by Fr Borg, followed by the national anthem sung by the school choir and animated by various students.
