HSBC Bank Malta plc and Bank of Valletta plc last week announced a groundbreaking agreement in which HSBC's Quikcash Card and BOV's Cashlink Card holders may now also start using the ATM network of the other bank for cash withdrawals.

With immediate effect, customers of both banks who use locally issued debit cards will now have access to over 120 ATMs spread across Malta and Gozo, making it easier and more convenient to withdraw money on a 24-hour basis.

In a joint statement, HSBC and BoV said with the ever increasing use of electronic banking and the push to encourage customers to use ATMs for their cash requirements, this arrangement between the two main banks in Malta will effectively double the number of cash points available in Malta and Gozo which bank clients can use.
