Euromed Cruises will launch its second schedule for the summer on Tuesday. The new schedule starts with a three-day cruise to Naples and Messina on the MV Sapphire.
The cruise's first stop is Naples where passengers can choose to visit Capri. Alternatively, passengers may opt for the ruins, frescoes and Roman baths of Pompeii and the quaint town of Sorrento.
In Messina, passengers can enjoy excursions to Cratere Silvestri, which is one of the bigger craters on Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe, some 1,950 metres above sea level. The tour of Taormina offers a splendid, colourful contrast.
"Next week, our second schedule of cruises for summer 2002 comes will come into effect," Iain R. Tonna, managing director of Euromed Cruises said last week. "This will include two-day cruises to Tunis departing every Friday at 4 p.m. and two-day cruises to Messina departing every Sunday at 8 p.m.
"Using the Grand Harbour as a home base, Euromed Cruises offer an opportunity to visit some of the most beautiful sights in the Mediterranean at affordable prices."
In Tunis, one can visit the old Roman city of Carthage and its museum, as well as the pretty hilltop village of Sidi Bou Said.
Euromed Cruises will continue to operate the MV Sapphire until the end of October, offering short, affordable cruises.
