Dimech offered Notts C. trial

Malta international defender Luke Dimech has been offered a one-month trial by English Division Two club Notts County.

The 25-year-old Dimech yesterday moved to England which he hopes will become his home country for the next few years.

Last year, Dimech impressed during a trial with Bury but the financial plight of the English Division Three club scuppered his chances of securing a contract there.

Towards the end of last season, Dimech announced that he will quit Sliema Wanderers at the end of the campaign to seek pastures new in the UK. Sources close to the stocky defender told The Times that Dimech will start his Notts County trial on Monday.

Other clubs in the UK have also expressed an interest in having a look at the defender who holds dual citizenship after spending his teen years in England where he played for Lincoln City.
