Hyundai's futuristic concept car, Clix, has been brought to Malta for the trade fair by Hyundai agents Meridian Enterprises.
The Hyundai Clix is a revolutionary concept car developed by the European Design Centre of Hyundai Motor Company in Frankfurt.
It is a compact four-wheel-drive 2+2 sports coupé, combining dynamic handling capabilities and faultless road holding with a mixture of pick-up and Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) characteristics.
With the Clix, Hyundai's European designers have created a new type of vehicle: the Fun Activity Vehicle, the agents said.
Its transparent roof is made up of four separate panels. A high-tech opening mechanism powered by six motors achieves the rapid transformation from a coupé, to a targa, then to a cabriolet and finally to a pickup, with the roof panels being stored under the rear seats.
A direct-injected, four-cylinder 2.2-litre petrol engine powers the Clix, delivering a maximum output of 300 hp (2.2 litre), with extra-large disk brakes.
Among other special features this concept vehicle offers electric folding rear seats, cameras instead of rear-view mirrors, wind guides under the light clusters, a spacious interior feel and a clearly laid-out three-zone instrument panel.
