Felix Galea's letter (June 14) raises a crucial point.
Employers' concerns with the alleged costs of implementing a proper occupational health and safety regime at their workplace is driven more by ignorance than conviction.
The WPDC is now in its sixth year of preparing students to qualify for an internationally accredited part-time diploma programme in occupational health and safety at the University of Malta. Our students and graduates know that the most solid argument in favour of investing in OHS is that, while it may be costly, ignoring it is costlier still - financially, psychologically, sales-wise.
And the evidence consistently bears this out.
