The Applied Optics Group in the School of Physical Sciences, University of Kent at Canterbury (UKC) has a number of Marie Curie postgraduate training fellowships within the EU Framework 5th Programme in the area of Optical Devices, Configurations and Techniques Applied in Biomedical Optics.

The programme is intended for young researchers pursuing their doctoral studies in a country different than that of the host and willing to receive high-level research training in a specialised area of research.

Eligibility criteria are specified under www.cordis.lu/improving. Fellows must be doctoral students of a university in an EU member state or associated state. Applicants must have a good background in theoretical and experimental optics and expected to have graduated in Physics, Medical Physics or Electronic engineering.

The group could host two fellows each year for four consecutive years starting from last January. Recruitment is continuous, and may proceed long in advance. The start date is flexible.
